Summer Mornings, Maximized: My Dewy Daily Routine

There’s something so magical about the wee hours of summer mornings.

The quiet. The gentle transition from dark to light.

The soft soundtrack of nature that quickly escalates into a full on roar of harmonious chirps and swishes. The comfortable feeling of the cool air.

The hypnotic fog.

I wake up around 6 am and immediately look outside.

Depending on what I see I often grab my camera and head out to observe the dreamy atmosphere, absorb the calm, and document the day.

Sometimes I realize I’m not alone.

We share a moment of stillness.

The flowers are always up before me.

And usually the fog burns off right before my very eyes.

Which leads into that glowing phase when the sun starts to shine, the dew evaporates, and I can see what’s growing.

Time to pull a few weeds, clip some fresh flowers, harvest a trug of vegetables, and relish the opportunity to soak up every precious summer morning.

Regardless of what the rest of the day has in store, my daily routine always starts with a healthy dose of peace and calm.

It’s a far cry from the hectic get-out-the-door rush of lives past.

Thankfully there’s still 56 summer mornings left, with plenty of magic to go around.
How do your days kick off this time of year?
